Irrigation systems often create run-off which wastes water,
creates soil erosion, and pollutes the storm water drains. The problem is caused by the absorption rate of the soil or vegetation
being less than the application rate from the sprinkler.
The SmartSoak(tm) solves this problem by subdividing the
zone run time into fractions of a minute, typically turning the valve on for 45 seconds, then shutting it off for a rest period
of 45 to 240 seconds. During the rest period, the water is allowed to “soak” into the vegatation. After the rest period,
the valve is turned-on again and the process is repeated over and over for the entire zone run time. In this way, more water
is absorbed into the ground and less runs off.
The SmartSoaktm is a small electronic device, designed to be installed
in between your existing irrigation timer(sprinkler controller) and the irrigation solenoid valve. It works with industry
standard 24VAC sprinkler valves and controllers you already have.
The SmartSoaktm has 4 user selectable time patterns.
For hard soils and steep slopes, use the shorter run time and longer rest period options. For flat landscaping or porous
soils, use the longer run time and shorter rest periods. Select the pattern that best suits your needs by observing the absorption
rate of your sprinklers.
